Hi at all.

I've read the 2 Posts Upgrading my FB to Kunena and Upgrading form FB 1.0,3!! .

I never upgraded from FB 1.0.4 to FB 1.0.5RC2 and now I want to know what is the best way to upgrade to Kunena?
Should I first install FB 1.0.5RC2 and after that Kunena 1.0.7b or directly to Kunena 1.0.7b?
Maybe I should wait untill Kunena 1.0.8 is available?
What do the developers?

no, need to wait, kunena will always upgrade seamsesly by usual unistall/install joomla process.

You MUST upgrade to FB1.0.5 before isntalling kunena, and for that you need first to use fb_converter, you can find it in boj forum

thanks!

Should we be providing the converter for download now? No one knows when it will vanish from the BoJ site.

First, I appreciate your help in advance.

I had FB 1.0.4 installed on J!1.5.9 MYSQL 5.0 PHP > 4.3 GoDaddy Shared hosting

I ran the converter. I uninstalled 1.0.4

I tried to install Kunena -- no go

I tried to install FB 1.0.5 & 1.0.5RC2 -- no go.

I tried all installs through installer and from directory -- no go.

This is the error I receive:

This is a mysql timeout message. The install is running too long and the mysql connection timeout limit is hitting.

Please check with your hosting provider on how to increase that timeout limit.

In addition you can manually upload and unzip the package into a directory of your choice and point the J1.5 installer against that directory. That will take care of the problem as well as 90% of the time are spent on uploading and unzipping the file by J1.5.
The install logic itself only takes a few seconds.

Hope this helps!
