Kunena 7.0.8 Released

The Kunena team has announce the arrival of Kunena 7.0.8 [K 7.0.8] in stable which is now available for download as a native Joomla extension for J! 5.4.x/6.0.x./6.1.x. This version addresses most of the issues that were discovered in K 6.2 / K 6.3 / K 6.4 and issues discovered during the last development stages of K 7.0

Error while rendering KunenaLayout. Invalid controller: name='', format='' was created by martin_egan
I have recently migrated my site from Joomla 3.10.x to Joomla 4.4.0 with Kunena 6.2.1, Language pack 6.2.1, Kunena Latest module version 6.0.4 using the Aurelia template.

I have a Kunena Forum >> Category List menu item which has Category Id 'Top Level' selected so all the Categories in  the forum are displayed as you can see here .

If I try to display one of the Posts from the 'Last Post' column, or if I try to display a list of all the Topics in one of the categories, I get this message:

Error while rendering KunenaLayout.
Invalid controller: name='', format=''

as you can see if you try it for yourself.

I have switched on the site debug and Kunena debug, but I'm not getting any more detailed error messages. I have tried un-publishing all my 3rd party plug-ins, but that had no affect. I tried un-publishing all my 3rd party modules, but that had no affect either.

I noticed that the URLs for the posts all have 0# in the Itemid= field, for example

www.mirrorsailing.org.uk/index.php?optio...20600&Itemid=0#21328

which I thought looked a bit odd. If I edit the URL in the Browser address bar, and remove the 0# , the URL then works

www.mirrorsailing.org.uk/index.php?optio...d=20600&Itemid=21328

The URLs for the Category all have a Itemid=0 at the end, e.g.

www.mirrorsailing.org.uk/index.php?optio...ory&catid=2&Itemid=0

If I edit the URL to remove this field, the URL will then work, e.g.

www.mirrorsailing.org.uk/index.php?optio...iew=category&catid=2

I don't know if the 0# in the Post URL Itemid= field and/or the Itemid=0 in the Category URL are been generated by a bug (or bugs), of if they are supposed to be there. In which case, does anyone know why I'm getting the

Error while rendering KunenaLayout.
Invalid controller: name='', format=''

error message?

Hello,

You have an issue with your Kunena menu, try to re-create it. If it's still not display after that, please post here your Kunena report configuration
I don't provide support by PM, because this can be useful for someone else.

OK, I've created a new Kunena Forum >> Category list menu item from scratch, when I select it in the front end, the result is the same, all categories and last posts are displayed, but URLs don't work.

I tried re-installing the Kunena package, language pack & latest module, but that didn't make any difference.

Your menu still looks strange
did you follow this explanation?

OK, I've done the “trash-burn-build technique” which created a Kunena menu, then created a Menu Item in my main menu with type 'Menu Item Alias' which is a link to the 'Index' item in the Kunena menu. That seems to have fixed it, the Index displays similar to before, but now all the links work and the Kunenu menu it across the top of the forum.
