Solved Cannot save message: Invalid email address!

• Log in as a Moderator
• Go to any message of any user
• Click [Action] > [Edit]
• Change anything in the text
• Click [Submit]

This is an absolutely puzzling error message. No email address is involved in this action.

This is not true. The changes made to the text have been discarded and are lost.

i can't confirm this on all my kunena forum Version 6 it works as it should.

$this->email = '';

to

$this->email = null;

Thank you for your answer. Anonymous posting is NOT allowed. I checked the database > Table zzzzz_kunena_categories > allowAnonymous is «0» for all categories.
Changing the file KunenaMessage.php line 1401 from
    $this->email = '';
to
    $this->email = null;
had no effect. I also tried
a) Kunena -> Tools > Let recount the statistics
b) Kunena -> Tools > Synchronize users

The error message «Cannot save message: Invalid email address!» persists. But this issue is less important, because only message before the Update to Joomla 4 are affected, newer messages are ok.

I have migrated a test site and can reproduce this error. It only affects migrated posts. I will add a ticket to our error list for this bug.

hello, it's the same. New posts ok, but when editing posts from the old version I have a message "Cannot save message: Invalid email address!"

The bug will be fixed with the next Kunena update.
