Hi,

yesterday I upgraded to kunena forum 5.1.1 (Joomla 3.8.10).

Now the well known JoomGallery component does not work correctly anymore with enabled intgerated Joomla-SEF:

Neither thumbnails do show up in JoomImage-Module nor the detailed images (large original pics) are presented if you click on any thumbnail in the JoomGallery view while the integrated SEF-functionality of Joomla is enabled.

By deactivating ALL system plugins before reactivating each one step by step I could find out that the system plugin "system -kunena forum" is responsible for the issues. Disabling that plugin makes Joomgallery working correctly again.

Before moving to current version kunena 5.1.1 JoomGallery was working fine together with kunena forum system plugin and enabled Joomla-integrated SEF.

Currently I have to deactivate SEF in Joomla to make JoomGallery and Kunena 5.1.1 working together. But this only can be a temporar workaround.

The developpers of JoomGallery guess that the problem described above could have following reasons:

- a system plugin makes use of the event 'onAfterInitialise' or has code in the constructor
- within one of those functions the plugin requests Joomla´s document-library directly
Code:
Example: $document =& JFactory::getDocument();

or implicitly
Code:
$mainframe->addCustomHeadTag($html);

The developpers of JoomGallery: Plugins that intend to change the HTML-output of a page only should to that being absolutely sure that a HTML page is the wished output format. This earliest is the case at the event 'onAfterRoute'.

The developpers of JoomGallery:
Code:
$instance->setType($ntype);

of the function 'getInstance()' in the file 'libraries/joomla/document/document.php' define the document type finally as HTML. But the JoomGallery does need RAW for rendering the images.

I think it has nothing to do with Kunena 5.1.1 but with Joomla 3.8.10. See here

Hi,

this is MY post ;-) that I made before I was recommended in the JoomGallery Support forum to disable all system plugins execept SEF and then reactivate each one step by step.

Like mentioned before disabling the kunena forum system plugin solves the problem so it depends on it.

Best regards

By the way: I wonder why the latest version of kunena forum shown in the change log is 5.0.13

Hi Rich,

I restored an Akeeba Backup I had made before upgrading 5.0.13 to 5.1.

Then I updated 5.0.13 to 5.0.14!

With kunena forum 5.0.14 the problem with JoomGallery and activated SEF does NOT occur.

So it seems to depend on changes in version 5.1.X
