Kunena 5.2 Beta 1 Released (24 Sep 2020)

The Kunena team is thrilled to announce the first public beta release of Kunena 5.2, a native Joomla extension for Joomla 3.9. This is a development release and should be only be used for testing; this version is not recommended for live websites at this stage.

The purpose of this release is to encourage testing by downloading, installing and identifying any problems or shortcomings that people may discover. K 5.2.0 B1 is stable and we are aware that people will discover defects. We encourage you to use the forum to report defects, as soon as they are discovered, so that the development team can work through the problems before the release of K 5.1 as a stable product. Reporting defects does not mean that the problems can or will be fixed. The Kunena team is looking forward to hearing your feedback on how well we have achieved our design goals.

Please enable in the Kunena configuration (tab General) the debug mode. Then the error message is more precise.

Thank you rich for your swift reply.

This is what the debug mode tells:

500 Internal Server Error
Fatal Error was detected!

The error was detected in the Kunena Component.

Fatal Error: Method KunenaLayoutTopicModerate::__toString() must not throw an exception, caught ParseError: syntax error, unexpected 'endforeach' (T_ENDFOREACH), expecting elseif (T_ELSEIF) or else (T_ELSE) or endif (T_ENDIF) in components/com_kunena/template/jsn_shine/pages/topic/moderate/default.php on line 0

Apparently, the problem lies in the JSN Shine template. I now switched to Crypsisb3 and this works.

Is this normal that the recaptcha loops for +5 minutes?

thank you

We don't know this template. You should report this error to your template author. Maybe it's a known bug.

It's not normal, maybe it was a connection disorder. Or exists the problem permanently?

Thanks rich. I reported the problem to JoomlaShine..
As for the recaptcha, I have to repeat the picture game at least 10-20 times until recapture is convinced that I'm not a robot. This happens every time when I contact the forum (registration and posting a message).

best greetings and thanks
Cyana

we can't change the behavior of the recaptcha, that's done by google. Maybe you are in a bad ip range that google thinks are used by bots.
