The Kunena team has announce the arrival of Kunena 6.2.6 [K 6.2.6] which is now available for download as a native Joomla extension for J! 4.4.x/5.0.x. This version addresses most of the issues that were discovered in K 6.1 / K 6.2 and issues discovered during the last development stages of K 6.2

Idea [K.5.0.RC5] Enhance: Short Meta Description in Home Page

Tested with: PHP 7.0.8 + J.3.6 + K.5.0.RC5 + Crypsis + Protostar

If you have this:
Backend -> Menus -> kunena menu -> Kunena Forum » Home Page -> Details -> Default Menu Item = Forum

You will get this meta description:
Index - sitename

The problem
The meta description is too short and there is no way to change this value without affecting child objects.
The Home page is the most important page of a website

Option 1. Custom meta description and change it at anytime.
Option 2. Use Joomla global

I think option 2 is the best.

So on the index/search/custom/announcement page, I will use description and keywords from the Joomla options

That means option 2 will generate at least 4 duplicated meta descriptions, right?

yes indeed,

1) remove the meta,keywords
2) Use Joomla meta,keywords (duplicated)
3) Use Joomla meta, keywords + adding view name on the end, so no duplicated text

I think the problem can be solved by just switching the landing page from "Forum" to "Index"
Both have the same content and "Index" can be perfectly customized without causing problems to child objects.

if possible, Please make your own tests and confirm it

I have set the "index" as my home default page.
I think my problem has been solved with change (I don't know if there are other negative consequences with this change, I hope not)

Forget about the last solution.
There was a big mess with all URLs after this change.
