We have just gone completely over to K5.03 and latest Joomla and things are looking much better.

However, even though selecting a Menu Tab does take you to that function a very quick pink error message appears during transition.

It only refers to a Kunena Internal Error.

It seems harmless otherwise but I'd like to fix whatever is causing it.

You can see it without being logged in (only three tabs showing but that's enough)

Please go to Kunena configuration (tab) General and enable the Debug Mode. Maybe you can see more accurate error message.

Ok, done that.. And interesting

This same debug report appears anywhere I see an instant red error message.

Notice: Undefined variable: results in libraries/kunena/forum/announcement/helper.php on line 141

Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in libraries/kunena/forum/announcement/helper.php on line 141

The error in Profile editing is very hard to catch with print Screen but it contains all the code for the Signature and Personal Text

And I just noticed when I post to a new topic I see this.. The first line is the topic label.

New forum version layout
Notice: Undefined property: KunenaForumCategory::$allow_ratings in components/com_kunena/template/nts_kay/layouts/topic/item/rating/default.php on line 18

Can I do something to fix these errors. ?

Thanks

I'm sorry, but I no longer know which informations are correct.
Here I see not a forum www.tomcrusoe.me/
The configuration shows Crypsis
And this error message comes from Kunena template NTS Kay
Notice: Undefined property: KunenaForumCategory::$allow_ratings in components/com_kunena/template/nts_kay/layouts/topic/item/rating/default.php on line 18

My fault.

I am constantly switching between Crypsis and NTSKay in an endeavour to see if the problem is common, and both errors are.

Back with Crypsis as default this is the error message.

try to uninstall kunena, and check if all files are deleted on the ftp, then install kunena again.

Looks some files are not overwritten.

Is it safe to do that?

I mean, if I uninstall Kunena will I still have all my data when I reinstall?

I can duplicate the site on another url to test what you say, but please just comment on my question first.

Thanks

Strangely enough the back end said the K version was 4.xx yet the main kunena backend page showed 5.03. and the front end agreed in appearance.

So I reinstalled the update 5.03 and all the errors vanished. I was also able to edit the profile at last.

Seems what you suggested about incomplete overwrites was spot on! :)

On to the next gremlin. (tomorrow, I'll sleep on this mild success) :P
