Is there a fix for this?

You need to add it on the robot.txt itself

Why?

Why 500,000+ kunena users needs to modify their robots.txt?
If only 1 Kunena developer can solve this problem?

that's the downside of the protected attachments, you need to change manually some files, to solve this issue.

Ok.
If there is no way to fix the problem there, then automatically add that line to robots.txt during the installation/update process.
Of course, this solution only works for the good bots (google, bing, etc..)
Bad bots always skip robots.txt, the only way to stop them is by implementing security measures in the code or server.

We won't touch the robot.txt file and .htaccess file, extensions developers should never touch the files, website administrators should the only one, who should have access to edit.

Because if you set correct the website, then you should remove the edit permissions on both files, so the files are only read-only. So any extensions should have no permission to edit.
