Hi,

I did not know that there was not automatic notification on the Kunena Updates in the Joomla backend and therefore I am still at 6.3.10 version.
Can I directly and manually upgrade to Kunena 6.4.3, or do I have to do an intermediate step, e.g. 6.4.0 (after having read all the comments about the DB issues).
I have MySQLi 8.0.26-16 installed. Is this o.k. for Kunena 6.4.3?

Thanks in advance for your support.

Hi,
Currently Kunena version 6.4.x is only compatible with Joomla 5.x so you need to check the Joomla version you are using. If you are using Joomla version 4.x then update to Joomla 5.x before updating Kunena 6.4.x

- Please provide your site url if it has been lived.
- Please share tip if it worked fine with you.
- Don't be shy about using the "Thanks" button below if you found my comment helpful :)

Yes, I have Joomla 5.3.1 with MySQLi 8.0.26-16 installed. Is this o.k. to go straight from Kunena 6.3.10 to Kunena 6.4.3 without issues?

Thanks in advance for your advice.

Yes. No problem. But make sure you go to Kunena dashboard after installing Kunena 6.4.3 so that database tables will be updated.
And as allways: backup first!

I have done all steps accordingly and also went to the dashboard after the update immediately. But there was no indication of an DB action in the background (no green lines), which was quite surprising. Nevertheless, I thought everything was fine. But when I want to login, I receive the following error message: 1054 Unknown column 'socials' in 'field list'

Maybe important information:
- I checked also the DB. The column is called "qqsocial" and I do not have these two columns: “qq” and “social”
- I was also not able to fix in Kunena 6.3 the twitter conversion to x_social, because the download of the patch was not accessible anymore.

Is there now a query to run in my Kunena 6.4.3 DB to get it working again?

Please can you advice what to do in order to get this fixed again?

Thank you so much.

Chris

If you had already a corrupted database in 6.3.10, the best option is to restore your backup and first fix the user table. You can find the query here .
