Question Is search working as intended?

Hi, I'm back here after a loooong time

I did a search in the forum, before asking elsewhere for Gravatar, and it amazed me the results:

www.kunena.org/forum/search?query=Gravat...te=all&childforums=1

Dozens of results where the query is not even present!

In this case, it is better if you select ‘Search titles only’ when searching.
The problem in your case is the configuration reports. The default setting for the search is ‘Search entire posts’. Since the configuration reports under ‘Integration setting’ also contain the word Gravatar, all posts with a configuration report are also listed.
The same problem also occurs with other keywords if they are contained in the configuration report.

That's why I asked if it's as intended, I understand it's picking text that is not really in posts content, but in what accompanies them.

And I understand it should be not that frequent for user to search about something like that, so guess is not worth fixing, but I would consider it a bug anyway

What characteristics should the search be able to use to recognise whether a post contains a configuration report?  I have no idea whether it is possible to exclude posts that contain a configuration report.

IMHO I think search should be only searching for thread/post title & the plain text inside posts, scraping everything else, except maybe links, and these can also be misleading…

Just 1 post from you Rich contains the word "fontawesome"

Or a more "mainstream" case: google -> www.kunena.org/forum/search?query=google...te=all&childforums=1

I find this misleading and bad for search results.
