OK. I just tried to update to 6.2.0 and received the following message:
MySQL 5.7.23-23 is not supported. Minimum required version is MySQL 5.7.30, but it is highly recommended to use MySQL 5.7.30 or later.

My site is housed on a HostGator basic shared site running MySQL 5.6. When I contacted them to upgrade MySQL, I received the following message from them:
Like I said for your package the highest version is 5.6 If you need 5.7 you can upgrade it to vps or dedicated server.

We are a small 501c3 amateur radio club and do not have the money to go to a dedicated server where we would be able to upgrade to 5.7. Is there another solution?

Hello,

MySQL 5.7.23 is pretty old it has been released in 2018-07-27, for Joomla! 5.0 you will need to have Mariadb 10.4 or MySQL 8.0. I advise you to switch to another host which provide Mariadb 10.4 or MySQL 8.0 and Php 8.1 at least

I don't provide support by PM, because this can be useful for someone else.

Hello,

Because you are not the only one, i have downgraded to the old MySQL 5.7.23 as minimum for the next release K6.2.1. You can download the nightly build here, if you don't want to wait for the release : update.kunena.org/nightlybuilds/pkg_kune...1-DEV_2023-11-05.zip

I am glad. I switched to HostGator because my Site5 Host said that they would not update to Mysql 5.7.30
HostGator told me that if I signed up, I would be on Mysql 5.7.30. Turns out after a very painful migration
that that was not true, and they wont be upgrading. So I was right back where I started. Glad to see that
6.2.1 will bail me out of a bad situation. Thanks!
