Cannot change moderation status was created by rgfuller
I have a new installation of Kunena 6.1.1 on a new Joomla 4.3.2 site with all default settings for everything. I am unable to change the Moderator status for my own user account or for a test user account. I get the following error: Incorrect date value: '' for column 'birthdate' at row 1. Any insight about this would be much appreciated.

Does it work if you save your date of birth again?

I am having the same issue on v6.1.3.2 when trying to change moderator status of a user by choosing the categories under the moderation tab in user editing page, then changing the "is moderator" dropdown from no to yes.
If I add a birthdate to the user info, it allows me to change the moderator status.
If I select the user in the user list screen, then use the "assign moderators" button at screen top, then the user is made a moderator on those categories. However, if I go into that user again and modify something else (say gender) and attempt to save the record, the OP error message appears.
Do all moderators need to have a birthdate in their profile?

Further to this, the error does not occur when the user edits their profile information on the front end, but if left blank, it adds today's date (not in my AU timezone - in the US I'd say) and then saves the profile OK.
Going back into the administrator back-end, and opening the user, it shows the date in US format but the whole Joomla site defaults to Brisbane/Australia as its timezone.
