I have the same problem with the version pkg_kunena_v6.0.0-RC1_2022-03-05.

I already tried to remove everything with phpmyadmin.

I have deleted all tables with _kunena_.
From the extensions table I deleted all entries with kunena.

But still I get the following error message:

JInstaller: :Install: SQL error Duplicate entry 'com_' for key 'PRIMARY'.
Extension installation aborted.
Install package: An error occurred while installing the extension: com_kunena_

What can be the reason for this?

PHP 7.4.28
MySQLi 5.7.37-0ubuntu0.18.04.1
Joomla! 4.1.0 Stable

Hello,

Remove the kunena entries in the table #__mail_templates

I don't provide support by PM, because this can be useful for someone else.

Thank you, I was able to install Kunene 6.0.2
However it is not functioning well

The dashboard shows 10 existing categories from the previous install.
However when I click to see the list of categories there are none listed. When I try to create a new category I get this error among several others.
1054 Unknown column 'parentid' in 'where clause'
The dashboard show 631 uses but when I click to view the list all it shows are errors

Can you offer any suggestions? Do you need more information?

It is not useful to ask a question on a existing Topic it is better to create a new question about your own problem.
But your question has been asked several times on the forum.
if you want to upgrade an existing site to joomla 4 then this is the best order.
"The correct steps, if you upgrade from Joomla 3.10 to Joomla 4.0 and Kunena 6.0:
1. Uninstall Kunena via the Joomla extension manager (it uninstall the Forum along whith the Kunena menu)
2. If there are other (custom) menu items that relate to your Kunena forum, remove all these menus and menu items
3. Upgrade Joomla 3.10 to 4.0
4. Install Kunena 6.0
5. Create the Kunena menu (click on this button in the Dashboard)
6. Publish the menu item created for you in your top-level/main menu.
