Kunena 7.0.11 & Kunena 6.4.16 – Security Updates Released and K7.1 in RC1 2

The Kunena team has announce the arrival of three simultaneous security release : K6.4.16, K7.0.11 and K7.1 RC2. Just a reminder K6.4.16 receives only securities fixes untill end of 2026, so it's advised for users to upgrade to K7.0.11. K7.0.11 is the last release of the K7.0 because it's replaced by K7.1 branch with the stable release in the corner. The translations for K7.1 on crowdin.com/project/kunena-forum-7-1 needs to be checked or improved becasue it has been generated by TM (Translation Machine).

So I updated a dormant site to Joomla 4. I got onto my host and got PHP updated to 8.2 and Mysql to 8.0.35 in preparation to upgrade Joomla to 5. The pre-upgrade check highlighted there may be issues with Kunena. On visiting the Kunena admin menus I find I get lots of errors so I decide to uninstall it and reinstall after but when I try to use the uninstall tool I get this message  Failed opening required '/home/b585531/public_html/administrator/components/com_users/Model/UserModel.php' . On checking for that file on the server I find it's not there. So how do I go about uninstalling it?

That would have been the correct procedure: docs.kunena.org/en/basics/upgrade/upgrade-k6-x
Try to install Kunena 6.2.1, maybe you will be lucky and the migration will work. If so, you can then remove Kunena via Kunena -> Tools and then start again with a completely new installation.
