Question Images not showing in RSS feed

In connection with changes to the way uploaded images are handled in Kunena, the images are no longer shown in the RSS feeds. Instead of the previous <img href=... /> the feed now just has {File Attachment: Rubbish.jpg} (the curly braces are actually square brackets, but I can't include them in this message as they arebeing interpreted as BBCode)

The only way I can get images to show up in the feed is to manually edit posts, replacing for instance

{attachment}=334 blackhoodie.jpg{/attachment}

with

{file} palmersgreencommunity.org.uk/pgc/media/k...reamhoodie.png{/file }

The {file}...{/file} format is how uploaded images were handled in previous versions of Kunena 4.

Would it be possible to either (a) revert to the previous handling of images when people are posting to the forum or (b) modify the way the RSS feeds are generated so that the images show in the feeds?

Hello,

If you try with the default Kunena template, do-you encounter the same issue ?

I don't provide support by PM, because this can be useful for someone else.

Thanks for the suggestion. I tried Blue Eagle on the development website, but got exactly the same result. The RSS feed just reads [File Attachment: mugshot.jpg].

However, from looking at old messages in the xxx_kunena_messages_text table, I now realise that I was wrong in my original post. Older messages with images in them use exactly the same format as messages created with K3.0.3. So the change must be in the files that generate the RSS feed. I'll try restoring a backup of the website that has an earlier version of Kunena and have a look at that.

I looked at the RSS feeds from this site before it was updated to K 4.0. You are correct.

In K 3.0.8, the RSS feeds displayed the images. In K 4.0.x, the RSS feeds do not display images.

So the change must have happened between 3 and 4. Yes, that makes sense, I deferred installing 4 until I'd had time to check it out on the dev site, but I didn't notice that the images were missing from the feeds.

Is this something you'll be able to fix?

I did not develop K 4.0 (therefore I am not responsible for fixing this). There is a defect report at GitHub but I have not yet seen any comments from the developers on this matter. Sorry.
