Kunena 7.0.11 & Kunena 6.4.16 – Security Updates Released and K7.1 in RC1 2

The Kunena team has announce the arrival of three simultaneous security release : K6.4.16, K7.0.11 and K7.1 RC2. Just a reminder K6.4.16 receives only securities fixes untill end of 2026, so it's advised for users to upgrade to K7.0.11. K7.0.11 is the last release of the K7.0 because it's replaced by K7.1 branch with the stable release in the corner. The translations for K7.1 on crowdin.com/project/kunena-forum-7-1 needs to be checked or improved becasue it has been generated by TM (Translation Machine).

Have just created a test system and upgraded to 4.0.3 from release 3.

The blue eagle template seems ok but crypsis has an empty menu bar. is this a bug or an incompatibility. My website template is the Gantry framework

I have done some more research:

My website has a main menu with one item for the “forum” that links to the forum home page.

There is also a separate Joomla Menu “Kunena” that contains all the other Kunena options (e.g. my topics, rules, help etc.).

It appears that Blue Eagle will pick the items up from the Kunena menu, whereas Crypsis only looks in the Joomla main menu

If I add a sub menu item such as “my topics” to my “forum” main Joomla menu item then the forum menu bar contains it.

Finally I changed the definition of the main website forum menu item. Instead of it being type "kunena home page" I made the menu item an alias of the kunena menu. This seems to have solved the problem.

So maybe not a bug but definitely a different behaviour to the blue eagle template

I have the same issue cherryboy. Thanks for sharing.

Question for you. You said you changed the sub menu items of the main Joomla Forum menu item. Did you keep these sub menu items as well as changing the definition of the main website forum menu to an alias? I ask because if I just change the menu item to an alias, nothing changes on the nav bar.

I left the Kunena menu untouched.

I then changed my main Joomla menu which has an item called Forum. Previously this was set to be type Kunena / Home Page. I changed it to be a system link alias to the Kunena Menu Index item
