Kunena 6.2.5 & module Kunena Latest 6.0.7 released
The Kunena team has announce the arrival of Kunena 6.2.5 [K 6.2.5] which is now available for download as a native Joomla extension for J! 4.3.x/4.4.x/5.0.x. This version addresses most of the issues that were discovered in K 6.1 / K 6.2 and issues discovered during the last development stages of K 6.2
Solved [K.4.0.11] Enhance: whois.domaintools.com asking for captcha
Kunena has an IP Address Tracking feature.
It uses whois.domaintools.com services to provide Geo Locations.
Issue:
whois.domaintools.com now requires a captcha, this is a very time consuming task when you have to make more than 50 queries per day.
Possible solutions:
1. Change the provider, use an existing alternative solution
2. Create a new platform,(Kunena team is the owner), this will generate more traffic to your website, also you can put some ads in that page.
3. Contact the webmasters from whois.domaintools.com and ask them to remove such restriction when a condition is given.

Thanks for pointing the issue
Do-you know others providers which provide the same service without captcha ?

I think it is better to keep the process transparent (Easy) for everyone
Also, I see this message in the website ipinfodb:
Declare which IP address used to connect to API gateway. We are going to restrict connection by IP address.
This could be a problem when people move from hosting company and/or have Dynamic IP address.

I have found a similar service : db-ip.com/api/ but it's need too an API key in order to work, it doesn't restrict by IP address for people sending API requests

I agree with this, I think everybody will be happy with these two options:xillibit wrote: let by default the www.iplocation.net and with a setting enable usage of API
