Kunena 6.4.13 Released

The Kunena team has announce the arrival of Kunena 6.4.13 [6.4.13] in stable which is now available for download as a native Joomla extension for J! 5.4.x/6.0.x./6.1.x. This version addresses most of the issues that were discovered in K 6.2 / K 6.3 / K 6.4 and issues discovered during the last development stages of K 6.0
Hint: This version is primarily intended to facilitate an upgrade if Joomla was first updated to version 6.1 before Kunena was up to dated.

Hi,
My installation did not go well........I got these errors:

MySQL 5.0.96-community is not supported. Minimum required version is Mysql 5.1 but is is highly recommended to use mysql 5.5 or later.

JLIB_INSTALLER_ABORT_PACKAGE_INSTALL_CUSTOM_FAILURE

I talked to my hosting company and they said that is a big MsQL jump and that it might break all my other sites hosted on our dedicated server.

Just curious, why such a big change when other extensions are compatible with 4.1 and above?

Hello,

Just ask them to migrate to mysql 5.1 in a first time, which extensions are compatibles with mysql 4.1 ?

Just look the Joomla! requirement : docs.joomla.org/Technical_requirements , Joomla 2.5 supports as minimum mysql 5.0.4 and Joomla! 3.0 mysql 5.1 like Kunena 3.0

I don't provide support by PM, because this can be useful for someone else.

I mainly use JomSocial and they say 4.1 or higher, EasyBlog and Komento 4.1 but recommend 5.0. and one site has Community Builder. Then my templates are from Rockettheme which uses Gantry framework and is compatible with 4.1+

How long can I go with only upgrading to 5.1 before it becomes an issue? I really like to make sure our sites are running as smoothly and error free as possible.

As part of reading the K3.0 Upgrade Guide - see the Wiki - it is also important to read the K 3.0.2 release notes together with the Technical requirements. Perhaps it's unfortunate that you did not read that, from the days of K 1.5 - 4 years ago - the minimum requirement for MySQL has consistently been MySQL 5.0 or higher.

The K 3.0 installation process checks for the minimum version requirement for MySQL - it needs to be MySQL 5.1.0 or higher (MySQL 5.5.0 or higher is recommended) an if this minimum requirement is not et then the installation procedure will end; in previous versions of Kunena , the installation processes may not, perhaps, have so rigorously checked the MySQL version minimum requirements. As far as K 3.0 is concerned, that's the "deal": the K 3.0 installation/upgrade procedure pre-check ensures that your site has MySQL 5.1.0 as a minimum; this information is stated quite clearly in the Kunena installation guides.

I have not had any problems upgrading prior to K 3. Maybe in the "Upgrade Now" email it would of been nice to at least stated IMPORTANT! mySQL requirement is....

I did go to the Wiki, but it is the same stuff so it is easy to overlook a small number change.

Nothing unfortunate, just asking a question and xillibit helped me greatly.
