Kunena 6.3.0 released

The Kunena team has announce the arrival of Kunena 6.3.0 [K 6.3.0] in stable which is now available for download as a native Joomla extension for J! 4.4.x/5.0.x/5.1.x. This version addresses most of the issues that were discovered in K 6.2 and issues discovered during the last development stages of K 6.3

If you are having problems then, for your own benefit, it would save us all a lot of time if you would kindly post your configuration report when you ask for help from this forum. If you do not post your configuration report we will not ask you for it but you will probably not get your problem solved, either.

Question User sync not working

User sync not working was created by oestek
Hello,

I've searched the forum but have not found an answer to this issue.

We have over 5000 Joomla! users, but when we perform a Kunena user sync, we remain at 173 Kunena users.

Am I misunderstanding the function? I'm assuming we're supposed to have the same number of Kunena users as Joomla! after syncronizing users.

Thanks!

You are correct. Try the procedure shown in the following image:

As you may know , K 3.0.7 is is obsolete and it is not supported. As a suggestion, it might be a good idea to update to K 3.0.8 .

Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately, it looks like there may be a corruption in one of your database tables—the table of Joomla users. I do not know what version of Joomla you are using but, in J! 3.4.3 (the latest version of Joomla), the Joomla users are stored in the table _users

I suspect that one of the records in your _users table may be corrupted and, therefore, may be preventing the Kunena Synchronise Users feature from doing its job.

If you only have "173 users", my guess is that the 174th record may be the "problem" one.

It is not easy for someone like me—I am just an "ordinary" person like you; I am not a member of the Kunena development/support team—to help you via this forum. Perhaps one of the Kunena developers or forum moderators has a better idea and the means to help you here on this forum.

Interesting theory, I'll take a look at the Joomla user table.

Thanks for the idea.

In theory, you should be able to EMPTY (not drop) the database table _kunena_users and use the Synchronise Users feature to rebuild the table. However, I have not tried this and you should not attempt it unless you have a good, reliable backup of your website.

Hmm... interesting... my Joomla user table is not showing any users, but the back end shows nearly 6000. Been through all the tables that have anything to do with "user" and am not finding anything. The plot thickens.
