Kunena 6.3.0 released

The Kunena team has announce the arrival of Kunena 6.3.0 [K 6.3.0] in stable which is now available for download as a native Joomla extension for J! 4.4.x/5.0.x/5.1.x. This version addresses most of the issues that were discovered in K 6.2 and issues discovered during the last development stages of K 6.3

If you are having problems then, for your own benefit, it would save us all a lot of time if you would kindly post your configuration report when you ask for help from this forum. If you do not post your configuration report we will not ask you for it but you will probably not get your problem solved, either.

Question Moving kunena database tables

I have 2 very similar Joomla 3.4.1 installations, both with the same version of kunena forum installed. Instance 1 has 12 forum categories and instance 2 has those plus 34 others. I wish to move my kunena from instance 2 to instance 1, replacing it entirely so that both instances (of the forum, not joomla) are the same.

Using phpmyadmin I exported all <prefix>_kunena_* tables, changed the prefix to match that of instance 1, removed all kunena tables from instance 1 and then imported the instance 2 tables from the edited sql file.

After doing that the forum of instance 1 seems to work OK, no problems observed, EXCEPT it still only contains the same 12 categories rather than the 46 that instance 2 has. It's as tho I didn't import the tables at all!

But using phpmyadmin it's easy to see all 46 categories are there in the <prefix>_kunena_categories table. I thought by copying ALL kunena tables rather than only the _categories was the safer way to go. The two joomlas are using different databases.

Questions:
1) where is the flaw in the approach I took?
2) are there other non-kunena tables that need to be migrated?
3) why isn't the kunena data fully encapsulated in kunena tables if #2 is true?

Any help in migrating my kunena installation between the two joomla instances would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

1) try recount on the tools page.

2) Yes Users and usermap Should be also migrated. Because the userid. If the id's are the same, then you don't need it.

Perhaps I'm fooling myself?

In the admin section of jommla, I can see all of the categories just fine. I don't see them on the public site tho. Is there a limit in the configs on how many categories are displayed on the main forum index page?

If not, how do you explain the discrepancy between the backend categories and what is shown in the index?

There is only 1 user now, the admin user. IDs are the same for both instances.

I did the recount, no change, no errors.

You need to check permissions of categories if all are not changed after the move
