Is there a reason User-written hacks is locked out? I'm trying to do some research on how to change or modify the editor and clicking on links suggested by members is locked out.

I think MrGenius1 means the User-written hacks category that was removed 2½ years ago as part of the re-organisation of the website .

The problem with having this category was that a lot of the information was old and did not work with the latest versions of Kunena. People also used this category to ask the developers to provide free help with writing hacks ... and then tried to profit by that information.

Although there is nothing wrong with hacking the Kunena source code to suit people's own tastes, some people thought that some of those "hacks" were safe.

Instead of having a "free advice for hacks" category, the team decided to create two new categories:
  1. Custom work - not offering to pay ; and
  2. Custom work - offering to pay
