If you are having problems then, for your own benefit, it would save us all a lot of time if you would kindly post your configuration report when you ask for help from this forum. If you do not post your configuration report we will not ask you for it but you will probably not get your problem solved, either.

Question Creating a Secure Forum

Creating a Secure Forum was created by DHC8
I want to be able to verify every person who joins the forum. It will be an airline forum, but I only want employees from my airline to be able to access it. Eventually I'd like to make private forums for other airlines who need it too, but also would want to set up a private, secure way where I wold verify a person is on the airline seniority list before I would okay their ability to join the forum.

Thanks for your help.

I would think you could make new registration by admin approval only. In Joomla you could create a custom field (besides phone number to call them) for the registration process, maybe asking for an employee number or even a code that you passed out.

You can do this by using different joomla user groups (acl) and set the categories/sections only available for that user group.

This is a good question but it is not really a question about Kunena. I disagree with 810's answer to your question which is about how to use Joomla ACL permissions—these things only apply after a user has registered—and not about how to verify who registers at your website before they are able to login and use the forum.

There are many ways that you can use Joomla to verify who joins/registers at your website. For example:
