Kunena 7.0.2 Released

The Kunena team has announce the arrival of Kunena 7.0.2 [K 7.0.2] in stable which is now available for download as a native Joomla extension for J! 5.3.x/5.4.x/6.0.x. This version addresses most of the issues that were discovered in K 6.2 / K 6.3 / K 6.4 and issues discovered during the last development stages of K 7.0

If you are having problems then, for your own benefit, it would save us all a lot of time if you would kindly post your configuration report when you ask for help from this forum. If you do not post your configuration report we will not ask you for it but you will probably not get your problem solved, either.

Question Deleted Joomla user accounts appear in Kunena with wrong avatar

I have a weird issue where I have users that have been deleted in either Joomla or Jomsocial user managers but their posts still show up in Kunena.

The problem is, their profile pic that shows is the profile pic of the current user viewing the thread. So if I was viewing the thread it would show my profile pic on their posts.

Any ideas what is going on here and how to fix?

I have tried the Kunena Tools to remove deleted members but that does not fix it.

Kunena does not have the ability to delete users. If you delete users with the Joomla User Manager then you may problems if those accounts had posted messages on the forum. We do not recommend deleting user accounts for that reason.

Which "Kunena Tools" did you use? Have you tried using the Kunena Synchronise Users feature in the backend?

Yes I tried the Synchronise users feature. Seems kind of odd I can't delete users as this is a necessary thing especially when using Jomsocial as members often delete their profiles and don't want to still be shown on the site. What can I do? Members are freaking out that their profile pic is appearing on other members posts.

I do not know anything about deleting users with JomSocial. Maybe someone else knows about this. I do not know what happens if you use the Kunena User Manager to delete users. When I delete user accounts I use the Joomla User Manager. If I delete a user account I then use the Kunena Synchronise Users tool (check all three checkboxes as shown in the following screenshot):

Is that what you did?

When you wrote that your users are "freaking out", it might help if you are a little quicker to reply to the topics that you write on the forum. We are trying out best to help you but it really would help a lot if we understood what you were talking about. Did you read advice printed at the top of this page?

Yes I have done that in Kunena Tools, weird thing is if I do all three and sync it says it deletes 174 users, then I click the recalculate statistics. After that do the sync with all three selected and it says it deletes 174 users again.

Here is the config report:

Thank you for your configuration report. It helps if you do this without prompting.

It sounds to me like you have some problems with your database tables but the very first things I would suggest that you do are

1) Uninistall the plugins JomSocial - My Kunena Forum Menu 2.0.3, JomSocial - My Kunena Forum Posts 2.0.3, JomSocial - Kunena Groups 2.0.3. These things do not work woth K 3.0.5. We have written about these things many times in this forum. See To what extent does K 3.0 support Jomsocial if you want to know more.

2) Fix up the collaton for the tables shown in red in your configuration report.

3) Discuss your problems with the author of the NTS KPraxis template that you are using or, if you would like to try it, use the K 3.0.5 Blue Eagle template instead. We do not answer questions about problems that people have with Kunena templates written by third-party developers.

If you continue to have problems, please post your updated configration report after you have made the changes that I have suggested here. Thank you and good luck.
