Kunena 7.0.6 & Kunena 6.4.12 – Security Updates Released

The Kunena team has announce the arrival of Kunena 7.0.6 [K 7.0.6] in stable which is now available for download as a native Joomla extension for J! 5.4.x/6.0.x. This version addresses most of the issues that were discovered in K 6.2 / K 6.3 / K 6.4 and issues discovered during the last development stages of K 7.0.

The Kunena team is also pleased to announce the twelfth version of Kunena 6.4, a native Joomla extension for Joomla! 5.0, 5.1, 5.2, 5.3, 5.4 and 6.0.

If you are having problems then, for your own benefit, it would save us all a lot of time if you would kindly post your configuration report when you ask for help from this forum. If you do not post your configuration report we will not ask you for it but you will probably not get your problem solved, either.

Question Moderator functions

Hi

I have 3 moderators setup in a group called mods. I have a category setup as private with 1 heading under that, which mods use to chat amongst themselves for help etc.

These mods do not have the options of modding properly, no ban button etc, or other options?

I have another category setup for me which is also set to private which cannot see (that's fine)

In options I have set the mod category for all the mods to have access, and for mine, just me, this all works fine.

However the only way I can get the mod options to appear for them is to add them to the group "administrators ". But this allows them access to my private category and assuming all other things. How can I give them mod options but not access to things?

Thanks

Scot

None ofmy mods have mod functions, e.g. Ban, history, mod, etc on any posts, even though set to mod and in a mod group.

If I give then administrator access they get these functions but also see other things they should not.

Thanks

Your version of Kunena is out of date. I recommend that, before proceeding to provide you with any kind of advice or assistance, you upgrade to K 3.0.4.

You are using a third-party Kunena template that may, or may not, contribute to problems, issues, malfunctions or "unexpected behaviour" and we have no experience or knowledge of how this third-party Kunena template works. Before going further, can you reproduce your issues using the K 3.0.4 Blue Eagle template?

Let us not talk of giving administrator access to your users unless you believe they have earned that right. Let's confine our discussion to forum moderator activities undertaken by accounts that are not site administrators.

I have no intentions of giving anyone admin access.

I get that I am not on latest version but the functionality for this should be the same with the version I am on. Same goes for a template that's only a look, it has no mods on it.

Not sure I will be able to upgrade anything over the next week at the moment.
