Category definitions are located in the database. We would need to know more about this "old site" of yours before we would be able to give you better information that maybe of help to you.

What is your actual Kunena version on your site ?
On your new site, is it just a clean install ?

(1) There is no file that you can copy.
(2) Kunena forum categories are not stored in any single file.
(3) You will not find any files on your old website where you have defined your 400 categories.
(4) Kunena category definitions are stored in the database - in the table _kunena_categories
(5) You may be able to export the table from your old site and import it into your new site using a tool like phpMyAdmin (if you know something about working with MySQL). if you do not know how to work with database tables there are many good references on the Internet that you can use to find out more.
I hope this helps.
