Just wondering if there's anyway to add facebook avatars to the Kunena avatar gallery, I have set the plugins image destination to the kunena avatar gallery but the Kunena software doesn't recognise or pick up on the avatar.

Is this possible as it's a bit of a pain for Facebook users to have to have to upload a profile image.

Thanks in adavance,

Rob

The answer to your question is in three parts:

(a) You can add any images you like Kunena avatar gallery. See Avatar gallery in the Wiki; and

(b) No, you cannot use Facebook avatar images in Kunena unless you add them, first, to the avatar gallery and tell your users to use those images; or

(c) You may allow your users to upload their own images and use them as avatars in Kunena. This includes the images that they may use in Facebook.

I hope this helps to explain the options that you can use.

Thanks, that clears it up. I can stop trawling through settings now lol.

Do you think this is something that might be included in a later release?

Kunena uses Joomla for registration. If you get an alternative user registration component, for example EasySocial, JomSocial, Community Builder, JFBConnect or SocialConnect, they allow users to login and/or register and link with their Facebook accounts.

I am pretty certain they are all commercial components so you would have to pay to get them.

Thanks for the replies guy's. I bought JFBconnect from Sourcecoast and it does a really nice job of integrating the avatars. He has decent support on his site too which makes it worth the money.

PS One last thing, I think I know the answer but may as well ask anyway. Is there a way for admins to change user rights from the frontend or are all the user rights only changable via the UCP backend?
