Solved Blank page in backend

Hi

From my joomla administrator page, when I click on anything from the Kunena drop down menu all I get is a completely white page.

It is a while since I needed to change anything but it all used to work fine

I'm not sure if I know where to begin here but, perhaps, let's start with "it all used to work fine"? Somewhere, along the way, something has changed on your site and neither you (nor we) know what that change was. Therefore, if we can begin with a couple of basic pieces of information, maybe we can backtrack from the current situation until we find that point when things changed.

Is it possible for you to produce your Kunena configuration report? I am aware that the "dropdown menu" does not function but I am wondering what happens if you try to enter the URL:

http://<domain-name>/administrator/index.php?option=com_kunena&view=report

If you can directly access the Kunena configuration report, can you post your configuration report here? If you cannot get to your configuration report, can you tell us (a) the URL of your website, (b) what version of Joomla you are using, (c) what Joomla adminstration template you are using, and (d) have you installed any Joomla extensions that may affect your Joomla adminstration site, please?

I still do not know if I can help in resolving this problem for you, but I would like to try.

Doing the link to the report still gave a blank screen.

The url is www.hypno-psychotherapy.net ,. version of joomla is 2.5.16

I dont know what an admin template is... but in template manager it says

The only thing that has been done lately is captcha wasnt working so that was updated... could that be it?

I was able to confirm that you have K 3.0.3 installed on your site but I am at a loss to understand why you are unable to access any of the backend functions that allow you to administer the Kunena component. It seems to suggest that either there's something interfering in the administrator (i.e. backend) side of things as the result of a change you have made there or that, perhaps, the current installation of Kunena may be corrupted in some way.

It may be worthwhile re-installing K 3.0.3. Re-installing is done in the same way as you installed Kunena in the first place (see K 3.0 Installation Guide ). There is no need to uninstall K 3.0.3 before using the same procedure to re-install the component. Re-installing Kunena will not affect your existing configuration settings or any messages already posted on your forum.

I suggest that you attempt to re-install K 3.0.3 using the procedure shown in K 3.0 Installation Guide . Please let us know how you get on.
