Solved Access Denied on older posts after site restore

I updated my Joomla from 3.1.5 to 3.2 only to end up with a mess of issues (I see at joomla many are). I had to rebuild my site and try to migrate my content and everything from the 3.2 Joomla database into a Joomla 3.1.6 I reverted back. I brought in all the posts, etc and I discovered that users can only access posts after the rebuild restore was done but any "posts' that were done the day before and earlier gives everyone

"You do not have permissions to access this page."

You can view all the categories, no problem, but as soon as you open a post, you get that. I even set the categories to Public and still the same.

Anyone encounter this or have a solution? I really do not want to lose all the posts (1800 of them).

Have you tried searching this forum for "access denied" (because that is what I would have done) to see if other topics where we have discussed this before might help?

I did yes and many are similar but not matching my scenario. So to reiterate the issue...I upgraded to Joomla 3.2, tons of serious issues that even other people are experiencing with the upgrade. So I ended up having to rebuild/restore the site back on Joomla 3.1.6. Problems getting the forum back in and discovered that users were only able to access posts that were created after I did this restore but no access to posts prior to the restore.

I just now did a recount and all history of posts prior to the restore disappeared (they are GONE). I can only say I am glad I have a backup.

So something went seriously wrong somewhere, so I will have to completely uninstall the forum and reinstall and try to restore the data from the backup and see if I have luck this time.

"Tons of issues" like what, for example? Perhaps, if we worked our way through these issues we may be able to help you.

Perhaps if we saw your configuration report we may have some better clues?

When I said tons of issues, it was more Joomla related and other extensions and don't think it actually affected Kunena. Issues people are having is: Not being able to login on the front-end, email function being disabled in Joomla, some locked out of the admin, my membership using Akeeba Subscriptions was throwing up a fatal error (this one was the biggest problem).

Anyway, I restored the Kunena from a backup I had and now it appears things are working. With my test registered user account, I am now able to access older posts whereas before I didn't.

I think it worked with the restore I just did, so my guess is that when I did it the other day, it probably did not do a 100% import correctly.

Word of Wisdom for everyone else, always have backups! :)

Without seeing your configuration report - this is the last time I am going to gently give you a hint about your configuration report (we should not have to continue to remind people to read what is printed at the top of this page in this coloured font about this matter) - I really do not know.

GeJay wrote: Not being able to login on the front-end

I am using K 3.0.3 on a J! 3.2.0 test site and I have not had any problems logging in to the site front-end.

GeJay wrote: ... email function being disabled in Joomla

Yes, I have heard about some issues involving J! 3.2.0. J! 3.2 added a new feature to disable all emails. Apparently they overlooked the default option = 1. A minor bug but the Kunena team is looking into it.

GeJay wrote: ... some locked out of the admin

Locked out how? I have not encountered this problem on my test site. My test site was created using J! 3.1.0 which I upgraded to J! 3.1.2, J! 3.1.3, J 3.1.5 and now J! 3.2.0 and I have never been "locked out" from my admin site.

Have you discussed this problem with Nick (Nicholas Dionysopoulos, the developer of Akeeba Subscriptions)?

So, we can mark this topic as resolved?
