Hi guys....I'm sorry if I'm missing something. I've installed the latest Forum version, but I too am unable to upload avatars. I have checked that the Gravatar plug-in option is disabled, but still I cannot get them to upload. Any help would be gratefully appreciated...

Here is my site Report Configuration...

G'day, ford4thought, and welcome to te community.

There are several possibilities why you - the only registered user on your site - are unable to upload your own images to use as avatars in your forum.

The two most likely candidates for why this is happening are

(1) the folder where uploaded avatar images are stored is write-protected; or
(2) this is yet another giant defect in J! 3.1.4 (add to the growing list).

Has this inability to upload avatars on your site been a consistent failure, even over the past 9 months before you, presumably, were running J! 2.5 with K 2.0? Perhaps this inability to upload avatars occurred as the result of the way you migrated from J! 2.5 to J! 3.1? I suspect tat there's more to this story.

Hi sozzled.... ;)

I had the previous version installed on my site, but have only recently got around to concentrating my efforts on creating the forum aspect, following my Joomla updating to V3.

I concentrated my efforts on your observation that I was the only registered member on the site. I've just created several new members from family members, and hey presto!! Everything seems to be working OK. I can upload avatars from either "My Pictures" or the Kunena library.

I feel such a dork!!

Thanks so much for your prompt response...you're a star!!!
