This is odd. I just upgraded to latest Jomsocial 2.8.4. I'm using Kunena 2.0.4. When logged in throughout the website I have the following login and note the avatar!

When in Jomosocial, what appears to be another login module displays and with another avatar? I only show installed, the kunena module in Joomla! module manager.
