Kunena 6.4.9 & Kunena 7.0.1 Released

The Kunena team has announce the arrival of Kunena 6.4.9 [K 6.4.9] in stable which is now available for download as a native Joomla extension for J! 5.0.x/5.1.x/5.2.x/5.3.x/5.4.x. This version addresses most of the issues that were discovered in K 6.2 / K 6.3 / K 6.4 and issues discovered during the last development stages of K 6.4

This version addresses most of the issues that were discovered in K 6.2 / K 6.3 / K 6.4 and issues discovered during the last development stages of K 7.0

Important note: Go to the Kunena Dashboard after an upgrade so that the Kunena database tables are also updated. This is particularly necessary for major version jumps so that the table changes are adapted.

xpatman: Your configuration report shows that you want to use two different components for private messaging: Community Builder and uddeIM. If you want to use uddeIM for private messaging then disable the CB setting. If you want to use CB private messaging, disable uddeIM.

By the way, do you want to use CB avatars or Kunena avatars ... or Gravatars? Joomla access control of CB access control? AUP activity or CB activity? Some of these settings may conflict so choose carefully.

thanks for this info.
It has thrown me a bit as I have always used both Community Builder and uddeIM.

In the Community Builder profile I had always had the private messaging plugin = pms.mypmspro.

Some time ago another feature as added but I am unsure if it was a uddeIM or a Kunena but it did aloud PM's to see send via that forum profile icon.

I have looked thou the Kunena config and the only Community Builder is about avatars, in the Community Builder plugins if the Private Message System is disabled then I lose the PM's.

These settings are the same as when the site was on Joomla 1-5 and I have no idea where this conflict is or how to correct it..

I am sorry if I am unable to sort this as I am still getting to grips with the new Joomla 2-5 and the new Kunena 2-2

Community Builder doesn't have a PM system if I recall correctly. Joomlapolis use UddeIM on their website.

I think the problem is you have 2 PM systems configured. Set Community Builder to use UddeIM and set Kunena to use UddeIM, and that should solve the problem.

As I don't yet see a response from xpatman...

Can I take this as confirmation that from your point of view: Kunena 2.0.2 on Joomla 2.5.7 is compatible with uddeIM 2.8?

I am running Kunena 2.0.2 on Joomla 2.5.7 and want the PM capability for my users.

I think the problem is you have 2 PM systems configured. Set Community Builder to use UddeIM and set Kunena to use UddeIM, and that should solve the problem.


I have been up and down Kunena, UddeIM and Community Builder and WHERE do I set these things as the only place I can see isin these plug-ins

It WAS there before the upgrade to Joomla 2-5 as it is on my backup site on Joomla 1-5 & Kunena 2-2

G'day, manxian, and welcome to Kunena.

Have you tried using uddeIM 2.8 with K 2.0.2? As far as we know uddeIM 2.8 is compatible with K 2.0.2 but I do not use uddeIM myself and xpatman is, as far as I know, only one user of Kunena and uddeIM who seems to be having a few problems. This fact suggests to me that other users are not having problems. I suggest that you try this yourself and let us know if you have problems. I do not think that you will have problems. I could be wrong.
