Question length of kunena message showing in activity stream (JS integration)

Ok so like most people here i have Jomsocial in my site as well as Kunena

they are working quite well together however
i cant seem to find a way for my Kunena messages to show up as they used to in my JS Activity stream
They used to show up with the first (x) characters from the recent post directly into the stream

now however its not showing the images posted to the message
and it cuts off the character limit to something much shorter

i cant seen to find the correct place for changing the setting
