Kunena 6.3.8 Released

The Kunena team has announce the arrival of Kunena 6.3.8 [K 6.3.8] in stable which is now available for download as a native Joomla extension for J! 4.4.x/5.0.x/5.1.x/5.2.x. This version addresses most of the issues that were discovered in K 6.2 / K 6.3 and issues discovered during the last development stages of K 6.3
Note: Please go to the Kunena Dashboard after an upgrade so that the Kunena database tables are also updated.

This category contains miscellaneous, uncategorised user contributions, (templates, modules, plugins and hacks) relating to older versions of Kunena that are no longer supported.

The topics in this category are for historical interest only. Owing to the structural changes that occurred in K 1.7, many of the ideas in these topics will not work with later versions and, for that reason, the topics are locked.

I have it set to show "Real ID post" but NOTHING is showing. Tried the other option and still, nothing shows. Originally it did and now it doesnt. What is the issue? Any ideas?

It's difficult to determine what's happening without seeing your K 1.6 configuration report.

I suggest that you try resetting your configuration options back to their default values (there's an option for doing this on the configuration panel (top right corner).

It's possible, but not conclusive, that your choice to use "legacy mode" may have a bearing on this issue. We are not saying that "legacy mode" per se is the cause of the problems but it indicates that you may have some legacy software that is interfering with the proper functioning of Joomla and therefore it is an avenue of investigation worth exploring.

Legacy mode is not necessary for Kunena. Legacy mode is not even necessary for Joomla (by default the System - Legacy plugin is disabled) and the Joomla project has never guaranteed that it will work or that it may have undesired consequences if you enable this plugin. In simple terms, if you don't need it, turn it off. However, old J! 1.0.x software requires "legacy mode" and these old, outdated products are likely suspects for people encountering the problems that they have today. I recommend that you read Legacy mode in the Wiki for more background information on this subject.

The other aspect of your configuration report concerns the third-party Kunena template that you have chosen. This template has not been verified to work with K 1.6.4 and, if you have doubts about its ability to operated, you should discuss those matters with the author of that template. I suggest that you try using the Kunena Blue Eagle template that came with K 1.6.4 to see if this resolves your problem.

Your latter is the issue. I went back to the default blue template and numbers are working. Im a newbie to Kunena.

Any chance the CSS is easy to change? trying to find which css file is the one that needs changed. Do you know where it is located in this version?

I am pleased to hear that you have identified the cause of your problem and this particular matter is resolved (at least from our point-of-view).

I recommend that you look at the FAQs page (referred to at the top of this page) for general advice about changing colours, font-sizes, etc., and various resources that you can use to build your own custom design. I think you will find the information you are looking for in that FAQs page. It's not an easy job, nor is it something you may be able to fix in 5 minutes, but it's achievable if you have the patience and the perseverance to work things through. Alternatively, you could pay someone else to do the work for you.
