Kunena 6.3.8 Released

The Kunena team has announce the arrival of Kunena 6.3.8 [K 6.3.8] in stable which is now available for download as a native Joomla extension for J! 4.4.x/5.0.x/5.1.x/5.2.x. This version addresses most of the issues that were discovered in K 6.2 / K 6.3 and issues discovered during the last development stages of K 6.3
Note: Please go to the Kunena Dashboard after an upgrade so that the Kunena database tables are also updated.

This category contains miscellaneous, uncategorised user contributions, (templates, modules, plugins and hacks) relating to older versions of Kunena that are no longer supported.

The topics in this category are for historical interest only. Owing to the structural changes that occurred in K 1.7, many of the ideas in these topics will not work with later versions and, for that reason, the topics are locked.

I dont know if you can offer this help, but if anyone could I would be obliged....

I have installed ADRINE on my Kunena install and I am having a VERY WEIRD problem....

All over the different pages I am getting a row of 5 icons, one looks like a "home" icon,m a print icon, an envelope icon and a write icon. THey display in the index page, posts pages etc etc.

You can see it at - here

Trying my best to track down the problem (Am a bit of a NOOB but trying to learn) to what would appear, to me to do with

the displaying of "articleicons.png" and various css calls like #Kunena dl.icon, .rt-article-icons

I am GUESSING that it MAY have something to do with either the ADRINE template OR my Joomla Template.

How can I stop it happening?

I have tried asking at templatekunena but mysteriously my first post "dissappeared" and am not, given some comments I have been reading, not holding out much hope of getting it solved there, maybe I am wrong.

I would really appreciate any help you can offer.

You can see the problem at - here

Thanks in advance

Please address your questions about the "Adrine" template to the author of that template. Thank you.

*** off-topic *** You have set your Kunena configuration to integrate with uddeIM but you have not installed uddeIM.

Sorry. I have TRIED their support for what their support is worth, I was just hoping someone here might have been able to help or point in the right direction. But I understand.

One thing though . You have just highlighted a problem..... I DO have uddeIM installed and it appears to be working. Can you give me a clue to the problem???

Look at your config report in your earlier message, mate: do you see the reference "The file doesn't exist uddeim.j15.xml!" That's not a healthy sign. I'm not sure what it means but I know other users have reported similarly and they've acknowledged that they've had a problem that needed to be fixed.

Third party developed templates for Kunena are not the responsibility of the Kunena project. If you have an issue with anything advertised on the JED or the KED then you can always provide objective feedback about their product(s) for the benefit of others. Our responsibility is primarily geared towards making sure that the standard Kunena template works and to help people use the existing features of that template.

Some of these other third-party templates are pretty slick but, unfortunately, some of them may not always be up to scratch either.

Oh yes..... I see it now, I will have a look at that over the weekend..... Maybe I should have said APPEARS to be working. Its maybe ok in a test environemtn but you can bet your bottom dollar once it gets used properly it may be a different case. Thanks for the heads up.

I TOTALLY agree that they arent and shouldnt (indeed wouldnt be possible even if you wanted too) be the responsibility of the Project. I dont have a problem with that. I was just taking a stab in the dark, PLUS I actually think the problem lies elsewhere, but as per usual the template makers are giving me NO SUPPORT as is the norm nowadays with them it seems. I was actually hoping, aside from obviously getting the problem resolved, to have it fixed here and proved to be at least partially down to them and make a point about it. Cause I am sick to the back teeth with them, which is a shame cause they USED to be really good.

ALso on that note, I am going to leave it a couple of days and see if I do get any help of the Kunena Template people and then take action. It was down to a recommendation from here and an advert from here that I went to them. From what I can gather the site has BIG problems, but I like to be fair so I will give them a chance... Failing that I WILL post accordingly to warn others.

Its a sahame cause their templates ARE pretty slick looking and a good advert for Kunena, IF THEY WORKED PROPERLY and were PROPERLY SUPPORTED.

Thanks again mate for all your help. I will give a shout when my entry appears in Joomla extensions just for your info.

Take care and have a good one
