Question Is there a guide or tutorial

Is there a guide or tutorial available to assist me in updating my template from 1.6 to 1.7?

Any and all assistance would be greatly appreciated

If you are not using the default Blue Eagle template, please contact the author of the template you are using. If you are using the default Blue Eagle template, there is nothing to update.

However if it is not the default template and the author is not responsive, then I guess my options are SOL?

I assume from what you have written that you are not using the default Blue Eagle template. I'm sorry but there is nothing that we can do to help. You need to contact the author of the template or use a different template that works with K 1.7.1.

K 1.7.1 is (at the moment) the only supported version of Kunena.

My apologies sozzled, if I may sound frustrated, however I am literally getting tired of running into extensions and templates that are no longer supported. And it is getting to the point that ANY user that intends to use Joomla, needs to choose a version and simply stick with it, and hopefully find everything they need for their site, is compatible.

I am going to attempt to compare file by file of the version of the template I am using to Blue Eagle and POST a guide here for others. Kunena's template department is EXTREMELY lacking, and with that, options should be made available that gives Kunena members a better opportunity to be able to stay up to date, especially since the latest version is the only supported version.

There is a way to ask GitHub to display all the differences between two versions, but unfortunately it cannot be done for specific directories only. Here is how you get it:

github.com/Kunena/Kunena-1.6/compare/1.7.0...1.7.1
Above URL gives all the differences between Kunena 1.7.0 and 1.7.1. Unfortunately it doesn't show the changed code, which you need to find by:
github.com/Kunena/Kunena-1.6/compare/1.7.0...1.7.1.diff
and searching for files in: com_kunena/template/default

Kunena 1.7.0 to 1.7.1 has two small fixes inside templates.
