Users accessing the forums on my website from iPads and iPhones can no longer add attachments to their posts now I've updated to 1.7.2. Clicking on the Add Files button does not bring up the files browser dialog anymore.

I have no personal experience trying to upload files/images from an iPad/iPhone. Perhaps someone else in the community can confirm whether this works or not.

However, the general problem that people have with using the Add Files button/feature has been discussed many times on this forum.

The first, and most important, issue that you need to address is your reliance/dependence on an unsupported feature of Joomla known as legacy mode . As we have advised on numerous occasions previously, Kunena is not tested on J! 1.5 systems where people have enabled the System - Legacy plugin. It's not that we can categorically state that this plugin, itself, interferes with Kunena but, rather, that J! 1.0 extensions (requiring this plugin to be enabled so that they will work) do cause problems with native Joomla extensions (like Kunena). Let's eliminate these things as potential causes of your problem. Uninstall an J! 1.0 extensions that you may be using and disable the System - Legacy plugin (the Wiki article I have referred you to gives you some advice on what you need to do). Do that first and then report back to the forum how things are going.

Thanks for the response. I read the Wiki article you pointed to so I'm now aware of the importance of not having any legacy stuff around. My site actually had one module and one plugin that depended on the legacy plugin, so I uninstalled them both (neither was very important to the site) and disabled the System - Legacy plugin.

So then I accessed my site via an iPhone and tried attaching a file to a Kunena posting and unfortunately got the same result - the Add Files button just does nothing.

I have a development site up, where I'm converting ccBoard to Kunena 1.7.2. One of my two test users
has reported that the file upload doesn't work from iPad. Legacy has never been enabled on this site.

Here is the configuration report (I've stripped out the links to the development website):

Because you have removed this information, I am going to guess, again, based on the limited information you have given us. I think your problem is caused by the way you set up your Kunena menu. Of course, I have no way of knowing if this is the real cause, but I think you should restore your menu back to the original settings and see if this fixes your problem. See How do I restore my Kunena menu?

You should also read Search Engine Optimisation (SEO)

It's also possible that you have a Javascript library conflict. See msg #1 of If you are having problems with Kunena, please read this first . Are you having problems using the "Add files" buttons from a PC or Mac running Safari web browser or is the problem only on an iPad or iPhone?

The answer will almost certainly be that it just didn't work in iPhone/iPad. It never has, and probably never will. I know of no standard web site where it would, or even could work. Where would it upload from? These devices don't use the same directory structure as "normal" PCs as far as I can tell.
