Question Need to Redirect logout from within Kunena

Hello Everyone

I have Joomla! 2.5.1, Kunena 1.7.2, CB 1.7.1.

I have a secure area where CB and Kunena reside. Logging in with CB module works just fine. Logging out from outside Kunena also fine; it returns you to the public site home page.

BUT

If I logout from within Kunena, I go to a "please log in" page. This needs to be index.php, the home page of the public site.

I think the logout from within Kunena uses a predetermined action, i.e. "go to login" and not the CB login module.

Is it possible to set up a redirect in Joomla! xxxx_redirect_links so that if Kunena preset says go to "please log in", it redirects to index.php? What would be the syntax for that URL?

Barring that, can I just delete the Profile tab in Kunena, thus forcing people to log out via CB login module?

Thanks for your help!

Dan

G'day, Collins, and welcome to Kunena.
:)
I am not sure how to classify this question. It could be a question about Joomla or it could be a question about Community Builder. It would greatly assist if we could see your configuration report. The problem may be how you have integrated login with Kunena.

It may be a question about Kunena. I really don't know at this time without further information about how you have put together your website.

Thank you for your same day reply.

Here's what Community Builder said about the problem:

You can force all logouts (if they use CB API) to redirect to a URL using CB Auto Actions (found in the Incubator) with a redirect action using the after logout trigger. This will allow you to redirect on logout no matter where they logout from (if the logout used CB API of course). This should resolve your issue as I don't think Kunena uses CB login module parameters to determine login/logout redirects.

It worked. The only thing still squirrely is that when you are back on the home page, CB insists on telling you to "log in first" in a blue banner across the top of the site. (note: easily adjusted with on/off switch in CB Login module)

Thank you for your reply, Dan, and for helping me to properly classify this question and move it to a more appropriate forum category for you (and for the benefit of others who may be in this situation).

Even though we have not seen your configuration report (and what forum integration settings you may have used), I'm pleased that we may have had some resolution that will benefit others. As for why you're getting the message "You have to login first" - or even if this is being generated by Community Builder (I know not whether that is the case) - that's something outside the control of Kunena. As a general background to this discussion, I suggest you read the FAQs menu item (above the forum on this site), specifically, How do I register new users to my website and where should they login to use my website?

Thanks again. :)
