Question Menu disappears

Everything is working okay apart from when I click on the 'my topic', 'recenbt topic' or 'index' tabs in the Kunena menu, the page opens correctly, but the menu dissapears. The other tabs work fine.

I have to admit that when I read your question (everything is working okay apart from when I click on the 'my topic', 'recent topics' or 'index' tabs in the Kunena menu, the page opens correctly, but the menu disappears) it would have been nice to understand why this question was posted in the Support category particularly when we've received hundreds of questions about how to setup the Kunena menu. These questions are so commonly-asked, there's even a whole FAQ area devoted to answering them. Were you aware of that? Did you use the FAQs tab at the top of this page?

What has me particularly concerned is the word "disappear". This implies that the menu appears at some point but then, as if by the work of the Devil, it mysteriously vanishes. Your K 1.6 configuration report shows that you have tinkered with the menu. There's no harm in tinkering with the menu - there's nothing special about it ... it's just an ordinary Joomla menu - but, I'm sorry to day, you made a couple of mistakes. There are a few very helpful tips about creating a menu for Kunena: see Customised menus .

So, in the absence of being able to see your forum for myself to witness the "Devil's work" with the menu disappearing act, I can only really guess what's happening. I hope I've given you enough information to solve this problem yourself. If you need further help, please open you forum so that guests can view it.

Yes, I did have a look at the FAQ tab, but couldn't find a solution there.

With regard to tinkering with the menu, I just tried recraeting teh search menu link as I had a problem with it - turned out it was an sh404SEF issue, so have sorted that - thsi problem existed befire that though, so I'm not convinced that's the issue.

I'm not quite sure what you mean by "you made a couple of mistakes" if you could enlighten me on that please?

I understand how the Kunena menu works, in that its an ordinary menu.

No need for action, good has overcom eevil once again! The Devil's work seems to have been initiated by his prince demon sh404SEF (again). I went to check for duplicates on the pages where the menu dissapeared and lo and behold there was the problem. All back again working okay now.
