Question Can't Create New Forum

Hello. I've been trying various forums w/ my Joomla install and I stumbled on Kunea. The forum looks great and I love all the options! Anyhow, to my issue.

I must be missing something. I can't seem to add a new forum. I click on the "Forum Administration" link in the Kunea Control Panel and then click "New". It then take me back to the Control Panel. Nothing I seem to try will get me to a screen where I can enter information for a new forum or new child forum.

Any help would be appreciated.

Think I may have found the problem and a work around.


The "New" button under "Forum Administration" points to:

index2.php?option=com_kunena&task=showAdministration#


If I manually enter this in the address bar it works:

index2.php?option=com_kunena&task=new

Mhhh - I have the same link, but on my side it works without problems... (1.5.10)

Hmm. Wonder what the difference might be. I'm using version 1.5.0a (this is the newest, correct?)

No, I use Kunena 1.0.9 and Joomla 1.5.10...

you are right but i try to change admin.kunena.html.php file nothing happened!!!!

Oh....My full system Spec is:

Joomla 1.5.9 on PHP 5.1 and MYSQL 5.0 with Kunena 1.5.0a

As this is your first installation of Kunena, you are strongly advised to install Kunena 1.0.9. Kunena 1.5.0a should only be used by experienced users of earlier versions of Kunena and it should only be installed on test sites.

Uninstall K 1.5.0a and install K 1.0.9. Then see if you have problems in creating new forums.

What steps are required, especially related to MySQL, to remove 1.50a?

As we've said on many occasions, there is no support here for Kunena 1.5.0a, an alpha test version which is only to be used by experienced (or expert) users. The answer to your problem depends on your level of understanding about Joomla, MySQL, Kunena, and a whole lot of things.

Essentially, from what I've read (and I have no personal experience in this matter), you need to uninistall Kunena and DROP all the SQL tables that have "fb_" prefix. Some suggestions were offered in the discussion topic Downgrade ; you may find your answers there. Other suggestions have been offered in several discussions where people have had problems with 1.5.0a ... you could search those for an answer.
