Kunena 7.0.6 & Kunena 6.4.12 – Security Updates Released

The Kunena team has announce the arrival of Kunena 7.0.6 [K 7.0.6] in stable which is now available for download as a native Joomla extension for J! 5.4.x/6.0.x. This version addresses most of the issues that were discovered in K 6.2 / K 6.3 / K 6.4 and issues discovered during the last development stages of K 7.0.

The Kunena team is also pleased to announce the twelfth version of Kunena 6.4, a native Joomla extension for Joomla! 5.0, 5.1, 5.2, 5.3, 5.4 and 6.0.

You could try your last question.
But also post a Kunena report we may see something more.
And do you sometimes use communitubuilder? I also encountered an old similar problem

and it also seems to have something to do with the database sql collation to utf8mb4_general_ci
so if you use community builder
Could you also uninstall this first to see if that helps?

Thanks for the reply. No community builder installed.
I actually thought "f*ck it" what harm can I do, so I put the site in maintenance mode and then uninstalled the component, (this also uninstalled my paid template). I then reinstalled the full downloaded file and reinstalled an updated template all without errors and now I have the update site back
So fingers crossed all OK.

What worries me a little is the longevity of Joomla / Kunena as each of the recent upgrades to both seem to be winky bottom moments.
