Question Migration From Fireboard To Kunena Lost Basic Layout

We have hired a Joomla expert to migrate our Fireboard forum to the newest Kunena forum. All data has been migrated. The Kunena forum lost all of the layout structure of the Fireboard forum. There are no line-block separators, no borders, etc. The developer now tells us that Kunena is too different than Fireboard and that he can't bring any of the layout structure from Fireboard to Kunena without a complete rebuild.

Before we contracted him to do the migration, he led us to presume that Kunena would be an improvement over our old Fireboard forum. He didn't mention that the new Kunena forum would not have any of the standard structural design of Fireboard.

Here is the new Kunena forum on our website on our developer's server.

Here is a link to a thread in the forum. Notice how the User blocks and the posts don't have border lines around them to set them off; and how the User rank Assayer/Melter/Refiner runs into the post.

Any help would be appreciated. This doesn't seem right.

Thank you,

Rusty

If you like borders, then you can set at the option on the crypsis template. Backend - kunena - templates- select crypsis - advanced - Hide table borders - set to "No".

If you like more the old style, you can buy the blue eagle 5 template.

Thank you 810 for your response to my question.

The developers we have hired to update our old Joomla website and Fireboard forum appear to be confused about how to give the new Kunena forum a similar look and User interface that we had with our old Fireboard forum. I have sent them your suggestion about how to "un-hide" the borders. I told them that we would prefer that they install the Blue Eagle 5 template to replace the default Crypsis template.

We are keeping our fingers crossed that they have the knowledge to give us the kind of website and discussion forum we desire. They have been working on our project for three weeks already. They told us at the start that they would have everything completed in a week.

I will post further updates when they become available.

Thanks again.
