It appears that the setting for listing the recent topics (i.e all, month, week etc) is not saved. It seems that after login the default is taken. Kunena 6.2.3

You are referring to a users forum settings? If yes I am unable to reproduce. On my forum default is since last visit and my setting is since week and when I login I see all topics from last week.
Changed my settings on this forum to since last visit and that worked also.

Please go to the Kunena menu and open the Current topics menu item. Check whether "Use global" is set there.
You can also select the time in the menu item itself (see image).

Rich, my settings are the same.

I checked this forum and the same happens here. While logged in I changed the recent settings 'Month" to "Week", which works ok. Then I logged out and logged in again. Then the default 'Month' is shown.

Sorry but can't reproduce it. In this forum default setting is "Month".

I've changed my settings to 8 hours

and logged out and in several times, and it still shows 8 hours.

You just have made clear that the change of periode in the top is temporarily for the duration of the session. If one wants to have it saved for a next session you have to change the profile. My setting was 'default'.

If you want to change the time period global for your Forum, go to the configuration (tab Frontend) and select "Recent Topics Time Period = your wanted time period"
If you want to change the time period here at k.org, change it in your profile.
