Announcements show on the forum index.  If a user logs in, is there any to mark the announcement as read so the user doesnt have to see it when they log in.

I'm sorry, but I don't know of any way to mark announcements as read.

Hi @makitso, this is actually (IMO) a good suggestion.
I can write the code to make this happen :)

Some questions though:
  • Should this be:
    • default behavior (so for all announcements)
    • configurable (yes or no for all announcements)
    • configurable per announcement (as there might be announcements you always want to show (read that cannot be closed)
  • should this be remembered per session or per device (per session means that when the browser is closed the remembered state is 'lost', per device is that it is remembered 'forever' on that device so also on a next (new) visit.

Thanks for you input @makitso,
makes sense to me. Let me think about this a little more to see if we can make it even better suited / integrated.

Do you @pinkeltje / @rich / @xillibit / @anybody have any thoughts or suggestions on this?

I think configurable per announcement and remembered per device or user.
