Kunena 7.0.4 Released

The Kunena team has announce the arrival of Kunena 7.0.4 [K 7.0.4] in stable which is now available for download as a native Joomla extension for J! 5.4.x/6.0.x. This version addresses most of the issues that were discovered in K 6.2 / K 6.3 / K 6.4 and issues discovered during the last development stages of K 7.0

Uninstall without losing data was created by autobahn
My test site currently has Kunena 5.2.6. Version 5.x is never going to be compatible with Joomla 4 so I need to uninstall it and then install Kunena 6 Beta after I have done the Joomla 4 upgrade - I'm just testing everything at present. If I uninstall the current version of Kunena will I lose all my forum data? I can backup the table and re-import them if need be.

Alternatively, I can try disabling all the Kunena plugins etc to try to get rid of the Joomla Pre-Update checker incompatibility message. Has anyone tried this?

In principle, you lose nothing when you uninstall Kunena via the Joomla extension manager.
Additional, you can to export all Kunena tables and make a copy (backup) of this both folders:
media/kunena/attachments
and
media/kunena/avatars
Then you are on the safe side.
Hint: Currently is an upgrade from Kunena 5.2.6 to K6.0 not yet possible.
Important! Always create a backup before you make any changes to your website!
