If you have changed the thumbnail size, you must upload the avatar again.

Solved.

I changed the settings in the CB Configuration-Avatar several times and now I found a setting which works for me.
I set the standard max size for the picture to 300 and the standard max size for the preview picture to 150.
If I change the preview picture size back to the default value of 86x60 I have again the problem with the bad quality.

So, as I said, the above setting works for me.

Thx for your support.
