I know that Kunena has display options that can be set in the configuration settings, but with all the social media and cell phone users, I am trying to see if there is a way to "on the fly" have attachments set upon uploading to resize? This would allow users who have taken a picture with a smart phone to instantly upload it without having to resize it on their phone where the system would resize it automatically based on settings the admin had set. Is this possible or is there a plugin that will perform this function? I know with JCE editor I have those options for K2 and other modules, but with the bbcodes i can not seem to find a solution.
Right now I have file sizes set to limit the size of users uploads, but this doesnt solve the problem to users who are not tech savvy to resize their photos before attempting to attach them to kunena posts. All they get is an error message that their files are too large.

I am not sure is it that what you want. When you choose a high image size, and low width and height, the images are to resized during the upload.
Example with setting:
Maximum Image File Size 1500 kb
Maximum Image Width 800 px
Maximum Image Height 800 px
upload a Image 3264 x 2448 px with 2,4 MB
during the upload the image is resized to 800 x 600 px with 92,6 kb

Rich thanks for responding as that is exactly what I want it to do, however.... I have settings similar and when a user attempts to upload an attachment larger, they get an error message saying attachment limit size exceeds limit allowed by configuration. If it resizes the actual file as opposed to the display, how do I get it to allow users to upload files larger than the limits I set and yet resize them so the actual file is the limit i set?

If despite a higher value in the configuration the upload fails, then likely is the upload_max_filesize in the ini.php too low. Ask your internet provider to put it higher.

Ok will set the max file upload size higher and then set the height and width to what i want (likely 640 x 480) and see what happens. Thanks,
John

Changing the settings worked great. From the FAQs it appeared to me at least that those changes only affected display qualities. Glad to get the personal assistance. Kunena support folks are always great!!!!!
