Kunena 6.3.8 Released
The Kunena team has announce the arrival of Kunena 6.3.8 [K 6.3.8] in stable which is now available for download as a native Joomla extension for J! 4.4.x/5.0.x/5.1.x/5.2.x. This version addresses most of the issues that were discovered in K 6.2 / K 6.3 and issues discovered during the last development stages of K 6.3
Note: Please go to the Kunena Dashboard after an upgrade so that the Kunena database tables are also updated.
Solved Kunena for Mobile first strategy?
I have found xenforo to be a really strong contender for mobile first but it's paid and doesn't have a long track record. I have seen some paid mobile friendly themes for kunena but i am not sure how good they are.
I have seen phpbb3 and couple of other forums on mobile and frankly they suck. They are merely web versions on mobile and make navigation extremely difficult. I hope Kunena is different.

had a quick look at what makes xenforo a 'strong' contender. What I see is what is already possible with Kunena (with some additional components eg for Social Media account creation and login).
Mobile first can be implemented in two ways:
1. via an app that people install on their mobile device, or
2. via responsive template.
Starting with the bootstrapped Crypsis template Kunena really makes my users from mobile devices happy
Only downside is that users get 'spoiled' by apps from facebook, twitter, linkedin: all their communities are in there, using my community involves going to a website and logging in, also no push notifications (other then email). So an app would make sense in the long run, because it is all about the users... If they find it to difficult to post they will post somewhere else
Current Kunena.org forum is still based on the 'old' version, so not a good representation / showcase for what is possible.
Here you'll find a (dutch) Kunena 4 responsive website (with social media account integration, blog integration, etc).
Perhaps a good idea if other people post on this topic their Kunena 4 site: would love to see some sites in action

Thanks for your comments. Really helpful. What is "bootstrapped Crypsis template"? I searched for it but didn't understand. Is it something that automatically comes with Kunena 4.0. I browsed your website on android. Looks great. My main objective is that users should be able to read comfortably the content of the site on their mobiles. I have realized most people use mobile for reading and desktop for commenting on forums so can live without social features etc.
