Kunena 6.4.7 Released

The Kunena team has announce the arrival of Kunena 6.4.7[K 6.4.7] in stable which is now available for download as a native Joomla extension for J! 5.0.x/5.1.x/5.2.x/5.3.x/5.4.x. This version addresses most of the issues that were discovered in K 6.2 / K 6.3 / K 6.4 and issues discovered during the last development stages of K 6.4
Important note: Go to the Kunena Dashboard after an upgrade so that the Kunena database tables are also updated. This is particularly necessary for major version jumps so that the table changes are adapted.

Topics must relate to a currently supported version of Kunena. If you are unsure what is the current supported version of Kunena, please go to the download page.

If you are having problems then, for your own benefit, it would save us all a lot of time if you would kindly post your configuration report when you ask for help from this forum. If you do not post your configuration report we will not ask you for it but you will probably not get your problem solved, either.

I want my forum to be open to public to participate.  I followed these instructions:
Step 1: Enable guest posting globally
First, you must enable the ability for guests to post in your forum's general configuration.
  1. Navigate to your Joomla administration backend.
  2. Go to Components > Kunena Forum.
  3. Click on Configuration in the Kunena Dashboard.
  4. Select the Security tab.
  5. Find the option Allow Guests to Post/Write and set it to Yes.
  6. Click Save & Close
Step 2: Set category permissions to public
Enabling guest posting globally is not enough; you must also give permission for the "Public" user group to post in the specific categories where you want to allow non-members to contribute.
  1. From the Kunena Dashboard, click on Category Manager.
  2. Find the category you want to open to guests and click on its name to edit it.
  3. Click on the Category Permissions tab.
  4. On the User Groups Allowed To Post line, select Public.
  5. On the User Groups Allowed To Reply line, also select Public.
  6. Click Save & Close.
  7. Repeat this process for every category where you want to allow guest posting.

I see from your screenshot that the unregistered user lands on “New Topic.” That won't work, because this menu item does not redirect you to the category allowed for guests. If you want to use this menu item for guests, the first (top) category must have public write access.
Otherwise guests must navigate to the allowed category themselves.

Important! Always create a backup before you make any changes to your website!
