I'm sorry, but that's not possible. There is only the choice between CKeditor and SCeditor in the Kunena template setting.

Important! Always create a backup before you make any changes to your website!

some more information:
Kunena content is based on bbcode, en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BBCode
JCE editor is a HTML editor, that means that when you load that editor it will not handle the bbcode and see the bbcode markup as plain text

Advantages of bbcode over html is 1. safety and 2. simplicity

There are more markup languages, one that is used a  lot currently is markdown: used by the bigger forums (like github)

So that is the technical implication: switching to another editor is only possible if that editor supports bbcode. Also the editors used in Kunena have a 90's 'vibe' (but that is personal, but also what I get back from my customers using my kunena forums)

So from a user perspective I fully understand the wish to have one editor on a site: for articles, profiles, but also for the forum.

Technically that should not be an issue: kunena stores data, that data can be any data, so bbcode or html. When starting with a new forum that should not be an issue, but when switching the editor that will become an issue as kunena then should know in what format the data is stored and based on that load the correct editor.

IMO bbcode is already very old which makes it robust but it also has its disadvantages. Languages like markdown are getting a lot more attention and as such also more modern / better integrated editors.

So I think there is also an opportunity here to see if this is something we can discuss / improve kunena on.

Hi,

Wondering if any progress has been made with this topic please?

Kunena is a great extension however, the editor is not very accessible to users like myself when using a screen reader such as VoiceOver.
Don't get me wrong, it's better than most but being able to control exactly what functions are available to our sites users across the whole platform and all the editors being the same would be a massive bonus for those of us who can't see! Plus of course there is the benefit for styling.

Cheers.
