Kunena 6.3.6 Released - Security release

The Kunena team has announce the arrival of Kunena 6.3.6 [K 6.3.6] in stable which is now available for download as a native Joomla extension for J! 4.4.x/5.0.x/5.1.x. This version addresses most of the issues that were discovered in K 6.2 / K 6.3 and issues discovered during the last development stages of K 6.3
Note: Please go to the Kunena Dashboard after an upgrade so that the Kunena database tables are also updated.

Topics must relate to a currently supported version of Kunena. If you are unsure what is the current supported version of Kunena, please go to the download page.

If you are having problems then, for your own benefit, it would save us all a lot of time if you would kindly post your configuration report when you ask for help from this forum. If you do not post your configuration report we will not ask you for it but you will probably not get your problem solved, either.

In Kunena 5 one could test the message before it was submitted. Quite usefull because typng errors and check on images etc could be adjusted.

Is this function no longer available in Kunena 6.2.2 ?

Yeah, but someone could quote your message while you're still editing, which could end up with a quote that's no longer present in the original message.

Are there plans for a future version of kunena with a completely new WYSIWYG editor? Or a preview function like in earlier versions of kunena? That would be really cool!

By the way, there is no need to quote an immediately preceding response.

What is wrong with checking your text before hitting the submit button?
When you send an email you do the same.

Like I said. A preview is the best checking method.

A preview was useful with the old bbcode editor. But CKeditor is a Wysiwyg editor, so you can already see what your message looks like right away. I really don't understand your problem.

Yes, you're right, sorry for that.

I agree, checking the text before sending is crucial, no doubt about it. But sometimes you may want to add pictures, code or other stuff, and then it gets a little bit complicated.

Strictly speaking, CKeditor is not a wysiwyg editor. Yes, you can see quotes and all this stuff, but you don't see your message the same way as it will be shown after you hit the send-button. For example, you don't see the embedded pics, but only placeholders. Also the text formatting does not regard your Joomla/Kunena template.

Don't get me wrong, I think that CKeditor is a great component and far better than some of the commercial web editors. But there's always some room for improvements :)
